well im not sure if uve heard of hmotorsonline or not, but they do a full compression and leak inspection as well as a full maintaince check up on the valvetrain... so idk what F&F has do with buyin a motor from a very well respected company, but w.e floats ur boat...

the amount of miles put on an engine doesnt depict how they drove or took car of the engine. In less than a mile you can over rev and your precious motor is trash.well im pre sure they didnt drive the f**k outta it cause its only got 30k miles on it and it has 255 psi in all four cylinders as a compression test... so im thinkin not... sorry to dissapoint you but i do know what is a good buy and what to stay away from....

well im not gonna go for the build just quite yet im gonna keep it clean maintain it and just buy lil things that will satisfy me until i start shoppin around for some kits. and no i just didnt buy a b16b when i already had a b16a2.. my a2 was worthless bc who ever the dumb f**k who put it in beat the s**t outta it and im pre sure its not gonna hold up much longer thats why i bought this other one... im gonna be usin this car a dd in the mean time possibly overhaul my old engine and see it or something.. who know i just may part it out as is... idk yet but i do know that the b16b is on its way and will be in my car soon... thats all i really care about is a strong clean well maintained motor in my car to get me from point a to point b...

gsr over ctr?! why bc its a 1.8? well a b16b is a 1.6 liter stroked to the 1.8 displacement.... maybe cause its cheaper? ya i understand saving a few bucks here and there but spendin like 2300 on a used motor/tranny with over 140K miles... really not worth it in my books... id rather stick with what i have/ am getting... as far as building up the motor i have now isnt worth it in my books either i would just be puttin all this money into a POS of a block and tranny.. let alone all the tune ups and dyno runs id have to do... im just saving myself time and money in the long run... i think some of u guys are just lookin at a certain part of the picture, but im lookin at the WHOLE picture here... if the motor and tranny are shot its gonna cost = if not more tryin to re build it to stock spec... im not lookin to get a s**t load of whp yet... i need this car to last me for awhile and then i can start thinkin about doin that kind of stuff... but once again im using this car/motor as a dd for now... im not planning to do any major upgrades for a while until i get my feet planted in this shitty economy we have goin for us right now...you are missing the point completely...
you HAVE a b16... how much did you spend on the new b16... in that money you dumped into a USED beat to s**t engine.. you could have rebuilt an engine.. with NEW EVERYTHING... the problem with people like you.. and anything they are new to.. is they dont listen and learn.. they listen and defend.. we are TELLING you why what you did was silly.. TRYING to allow you to learn from it.. and instead of saying "s**t for what i spent i could have had a BRAND NEW MOTOR.. or a stock a2 with an ebay turbo kit at 7 pounds that would be more reliable and faster than ur 30k b16b ravaged swap...to me more blunt since you are COMPLETELY missing the point... $2,000+ can completely rebuild a motor with parts SPECIFIC to the route you want to take.. as opposed to a USED motor in questionable condition..
i have a b18c with nitrous.. which you would think is relatively quick for a Honda.. but if i already had a b16 i would have a FULLY built motor with a BIG shot of nitrous.. which would be REALLY fast..
