I'm about to start a vitara d16y5 turbo project.I was wondering if there are any camshafts made specifically for the hx. the stock one has an extra lob for vtec-e so regular d16 cams wont fit. Or does anyone know how much whp the stock cam can hold?

or better yet heres an idea, take the crappy head and get rid of it, do a mini me swap with either the y7 or y8 head.
Idk when vtec-e disengauges but its not good to be throwing boost at it because a it wont spool to its full potential with only 12 valves open and b you dont want to be building boost with only 12 valves open. That and in general terms the head doesnt flow well. If your doing all the work to build that single cam for boost, just spend an extra 100 bucks or so and get a decent head, the z6 is the best flowing head out there but anything over the y5 pos is better just my .02 tho

Y8 head FTW =) I'm glad I have it stock.
actually for boost the z6 head would be ftw. It flows better then the y8 but its all a preference thing, i personally think when boosting your want the best flow possible but hey thats just me
