Infinity 6022i speakers in 2000 hatch's front door

I am attempting to install a set of 6022i's in my hatch's front doors and I was wondering if anyone else has done this? The problem I am having is that the stock cover won't fit over them because of the tweeter in the center of the speaker sticking out too far. The installation looks unfinished without the cover over them.

I realize that 6022si's would fit better, but those aren't readily available near where I live.

Has anyone modded the cover to make it fit over the speaker?
I was thinking of either cutting the portion over the tweeter out, so the tweeter was allowed to stick up through the cover.

Any solution ideas (pictures would be AWESOME) would be greatly appreciated!
