Hi,
I have a 2000 Honda Civic Si and was wondering what parts are the best for:
Air intake:
Header:
High Flow Cat:
Catback Exhaust:
Intake manifold:

For Air intake I think that the JDM Password Carbon Fiber is the best or AEM V2.

Thanks in advance.

Instead of spending a few thousand on name brand parts like that... Why not just save for a turbo? It'd cost about the same.

:word: Somethings you can get for cheap.. CAI from ebay will gain the same as a 180.00 AEM unit...Exhaust the same.. your only paying for the name..

So do you homework and you can get parts that do exactly the same for less $$$

This is not really helping at all. But thanks. I going All Motor no force introduction. What ever the most expensive is not the best it just brand name like the other guy say. I asking for better design. Thanks in advance.

Well since your not going force "introduction" you will have plenty of time to research and read reviews. Your right the most expensive aren't the best, but brand names equal quality. So before you spend all your lunch money on eBay look around man. BTW, before you say it, which by the looks of it you might, it's "Vtec."

if you are getting a larger bore int. mani. you might also want to consider a matched throttle body. and if you are doing full intake and full exhaust a tune would only help you and your car.

:umno: If you do a larger intake and free flowing header you will NOT need a tune.. you just made your engine breathe easier. The combustion is still the same which does need a tune. If you add internals, bottle,or boost then a tune would be needed.

Hi,
Thanks but I think I got it. I am going with:
Air intake: JDM Password Carbon fiber air intake because of the size 4.5" inlet and 3.25" outlet which I think is the best air intake.
Header: Ebay Header 4-2-1 with 2" inlet for each cylinder and 2.5" outlet should be perfect flow.
Cat: Ebay High Flow cat with 2.5" inlet and outlet.
Exhaust: 2.5" all the way back Catback Exhaust.
Intake manifold: OBX Stage 1 Intake manifold which is pretty much the same thing as Skunk 2 but you are saving about a $100.lol.

I think with that set up it should be pretty fast. But gave me your opinion. Header back is all just metal pipe so all that really matter is the size of the piping. Thanks in advance.

intake manifold you may lose power since you don't have internals. that's what will happen if you use the skunk2 manifold but since obx is a copy i don't see why it would be too much different.

youre going to regret spending all that money on bolt-ons and gaining almost no power, and probably losing low rpm torque

if you want to see real results i would spend that cash on a b18 or b20 short block with hondata ecu. for probably less than $1k you could gain probably 40hp and 25-30lb.ft of torque by doing a crvtec

I think I gain hp after the intake manifold. I already got the intake manifold in. The vtec scream wayyyy louder and vtec jump way faster. All I got is Weapon R secret weapon air intake and obx intake manifold but vtec sceamed louder with the intake manifold then when only with intake. Gonna get the JDM Password Carbon Fiber intake instead. Anyone got one I will pay $100shipped if it is in very good condition and less if not.

so youre basing your hp gains on how loud vtec "screams"? sounds to me like youre really only interested in having a loud and fast sounding car. when the kid in the em1 with an ls/vtec or b20vtec stop-lights you and takes you by 2 or 3 lengths you'll remember the advice i tried to give

Air intake: password jdm or aem v2.
Header: hytech
High Flow Cat: magnaflow
Catback Exhaust: skunk2
Intake manifold: skunk2
throttle body: integra type r
cams: ctr
valve springs / retainers: type r valve springs and retainers.
TUNE TUNE TUNE TUNE

just cause ur car is loud and the vtec cross over is loud doesnt mean u all of sudden got a s**t load of power. just means your car is loud and pissing off the people next to you or when you show up at home at 2am and wake up all the neighbors pissed off. dont expect much gain on all motor b16 unless you go lsv or b20v. if i where you i would just go oem stuff such as:

Air intake: password jdm or aem v2.
Header: integra type r
High Flow Cat: magnaflow
Catback Exhaust: cive type r or integra type r
Intake manifold: itr/ctr
throttle body: integra type r
cams: ctr
valve springs / retainers: type r valve springs and retainers.
TUNE TUNE TUNE TUNE

i think both sets up pretty good. but those r just my opinions.
