Hi, I have a 1996 EK, and I just got some twelves from my friend. I have the amp, and everything, and i just got my radio today. so how would i go about running the wire to the amp and subs so that they can work? Thanks alot. If there is an existing article on how to do this, sorry. But any help would be much appreciated.

hey ive gotten pretty good at wiring systems in civics. use 8 guage wiring for the amp (ive used that and never had a problem) take the battery completely out. remove battery tie down (theres three bolts holding it in place) beneath that youll see where the engine harness comes through the firewall. make small slit in rubber boot and run power wire for amp through it. reinstall battery tiedown but not battery. now to mount the fuse box for amp wire i suggest mounting it above the battery cause thats wat i always do. next pull out all panels on passenger side of car (makes it easier to wire). run power and amp control wire on passenger side. replace panels. on drivers side remove panel and run audio wire. i run the audio on opposite side to keep from getting any interference from the power chord but if you dont care run it all on one side. find good place to mount amp unless its on the back of the box. hook up all the wiring (make sure the ground and power dont get mixed up). hook up audio and make sure you get the two wires onto the right connectors. put positive connector back on battery. now put negative connector back on battery. enjoy your system. you can also try pulling just the carpet up on each side but id suggest taking out the bottom of the back seat to help with the wiring too. when i wired my system i gutted my interior since i was puttin in new rear speakers too. hope this helps and i can take some pics of how to do if you need it.

mount the fuse within 18" of the battery. make sure that the wire does not rub against any moving parts, and if your amp is over 1000 Watts i would recommend 4 gauge wire.

Yea, it wud be easier to do if I can get a write up haha. I dont wanna catch my car on fire, and I would take it to a shop but i really dont have money for that. Pictures would be great.

fyi the gauge wire you should use will all depend on the amount of current being drawn. That will also determine the right size fuse to put in. research all that info if you dont know much about it also like was said above a good ground is key

Also... +4 on above ^^^^ but like the guy said.. keep the power wire and the RCA's away from each other. Power lines are noisy and will interfere with the sound. The rule is that they can cross, but not run side by side.
