^^^ what he said. mine on the other hand is WAY too loud. 3 inch straight pipe with an N1 can. no cat or resonator. i just put in a glasspack and it helped it a little but i need to get the turbo on

if you got some kind or resonator it should sound okay. i got a d16y7 (till i put my y8 in) and i got a effin 4" can on my catback exhaust and its pretty loud but its the low type of loud. i love it except for the bad fitment since its an ebay kit it also sets off car alarms at 4-5k. lol oh and silencers are a joke. they dont do much for the sound imo but my exhaust cheap so i could be wrong.

Just for reference

You can hear mine from approx. 2.5 miles when i get on it, and i don't think it's TOO loud. Just loud. It's not raspy though... where as I'm sure yours has a decent amount of rasp to it. If it's raspy (bee hive effect) then shut that thing up! lol

that 4" tip is going to make it really really loud. i would invest in some steel wool from family dollar and pack the muffler full with it

I have a 3'' pipe with no resonator, no cat... The pipe cuts off around mid chassis... total length is like 2ft from the downpipe... I have no problems with sound, unless I drive on the highway for a while... I think you should be alright with extra sound loud... Of course, my car doesn't make the raspy sound that yours would make

i got full apexi n1 exhaust and its pretty loud. I have cat and resonator. Mine gets raspy if i step on the gas though. I dont know why. I ordered a silencer. i can do before and after sound clip if you want wen i get it.

basicly its like this, the only person that can tell you if its too loud is you. ( and from time to time the cops) but if you like it, leave it, if you dont, get something else.

i have a D15B8 running 2 inch with 2 short resinators and a IS300 muffler, it sounds deep, no rasp, and at 3200 up under WOT it sounds like its going to shake its nuts in a corvets face, lol but it still cant even get out of its own way,

its all about preception, i like low deep sounds for around town, if im beating on it i dont really care how it sounds ( when i do my B swap its a differant story)

It's raspy because the diameter of the piping is too large for the current motor output.
