I have a 94 Acura Integra Ls. My brother-in-law has a complete set of turbo that will fit directly(everything, everything)...Everything has been tuned but the thing is, his is a 95 gsr. He's making 217 Hp out of it. Should I put it in my car? My car is totally stock. I dont know how it will work. Do you think it will blow my block? Should I change the head gasket if I put the turbo in. He's boosting about 12 psi.

how many miles does your motor have, you should check all compression before dropping a turbo in there just my :twocents: opinion

yea man..+1 ^^...... clutch, flywheel, axles, cooling system, mounts, and alot more things need to be checked before throwing a turbo on. Once u spend $$ on the turbo and tune, YOU WILL find the weakest part of your drivetrain and other parts. Brakes too!

Turbo's arent just plug and play if you want longevity and enjoyment with ur ride.

its been said over and over:
Fast / Cheap / Reliable <pick 2 and the 3rd is what its not.

damn how small is the turbo? its boosted on 12lbs and only made 217whp? thats really weak imo. Some na setups make more then that man. And since his is a gsr and you only have an ls you would have to redo the tune and vtec in itself has completely different fuel maps and ignition timing so you wouldnt be able to use his tune. I mean i guess in theroy you could but you cant just use a tune made for a vtec engine and slap it on an ls and expect it to run good/right
And ls's run good just fine boosted but you gotta have the right tune and well idk, unless its smaller then a t25 running on 12lbs that only made 217 you gotta ask is it really worth it? Cause your ls has lower compression and 30 less hp then a gsr. So in theory you might be putting down only 10 more hp then my ls/vtec motor is right now not even fully tuned.

This guy i know that is around town where i live has a shitty ls thats lost compression and overall is beat to hell yet still put down 230 on 10 lbs and been boosted for over 2 years. so for a gsr to only put down 217 doesnt sound very worth the troubles it takes to turbo in my honest opinion. But hey its your car do with it what you please, just dont be surprised to be beat by na hondas still

No. Do some research on forced induction before you destroy your motor.
based on what he said i wouldnt even bother boosting with that turbo kit his bro-in-law has. A gsr only put down 217 whp with 12 lbs?
That sounds more what a single cam would put down boosted on 12 lbs, i just dont see the headaches if thats actually true, lol

a GSR is very different from an LS. You'll still need the motor tuned.

and wtf 217hp with 12psi?? something is not right

lol and then see how long it takes to blow right?

Seriously tho OP if thats all that kit made on 12lbs thats not worth any time or money. Thats like 50hp more then what a stock gsr normally puts down. Thats less then 5hp per pound of pressure. Either that turbo is smaller then a fist or that guy who has it dont know s**t about how to tune a car. In that case its lucky to not of blown up.
A single cam will put down more power on 12lbs even with a t25 turbo
