we lost a whole town pretty much..
and when over 50% of a towns population make 100k/yr or more, u see a big change when 85% of them get laid off..

restaurants closed immediately and so did stores.
walmart even looks like hell here..
it does go to show how money controls the population and if people arent spending it goes to s**t fast..

but u gotta make it to spend it and nobody is making it right now..

That's f**king insane. I imagine that's one of those places where the whole economy of that area is run off of the one certain field of work. So it makes sense to me. I live in NC, I guess it's safe to say that people who live on or near tobacco farms are hit likewise. (That's our major exporting crop) I live in the second banking capital of the US, Charlotte. I've seen how the economy gets hit hard when the banks fail just as I've seen how your particular field of work affects the economy of the whole country. It's f**king crazy, way above what most people would've ever imagined for a country whose streets are portrayed to be made of solid gold. No more streets of gold around here anymore. In fact, they've been destroyed a long time ago.

look health care is f**ked up.. but its an endless system.. and throwing more money at it is the wrong answer..

people were making a lot of money and times were good so lots more people started to pursue college..

more people started getting good jobs like health care..

schools decided f**k we can charge a LOT more since demand is so high...

so now it cost a ton more to be a doctor...

so then doctors charge more..

doctors charge more so drug companies say f**k.. if they are charging more.. we need to be to.. so they charge more...

equipment companies supplying hospitals then in turn do the same..

again just adding to the enormous disgusting pile of cost for health care..

that cost goes up.. insurance goes up... and in many cases becomes something unfordable..

the problem is all this works out fine.. providing the the distance between the dr. and roofer is not THAT far financially.. but unfortunately this gross increase in many area has not been compensated equally across the board.. so this is why you have union guys working on assembly lines thinking they should be making $30 an hour to screw on a bolt.. the WHOLE big issue has been caused by this enormous gap between lower and upper class.. completely dissolving the middle class.. if the growth of these industries was somewhat controlled along with the costs associated with them.. we would likely not be in such a serious situation now.. when a doctor wants to make 500k a year.. when a guy throwing a ball wants to make millions a year.. when a guy screwing on a nut thinks he deserves $30 an hour.. we have a problem.. because "normal" jobs just dont pay that.. and it makes everything unaffordable..

Entertainers are an exception and only make up a small small small fraction of our population. its not that they shouldnt make the big bucks.. its when the big bucks and little bucks are disproportionately different..

it makes what the average american earns useless, and inadequate... which makes him forced more pay to catch up.. which forcing an increased cost to consumers.... which causes them to spend more money and so on... your union type jobs... and such dont really suffer because they just force more pay.. but the "little guy" the countless people working for small home town businesses suffer.. they can not compare in pay to large union type work.. so the small amounts that they can afford to pay become inadequate.. its kind of a messy situation..

unlike some i wont pretend i have all the answers.. but the unfortunate thing that WOULD fix it is complete economic collapse.. getting rid of unions would also be a huge help.. what actually has to happen is this..

the poor.. have to get SO poor that they stop going to the doctor and start getting sick.. as f**ked up as that sounds its the ONLY fix.. because the opposite only rewards those same greedy doctors..

problem: health care is too expensive..

finding: demand increases cost... the more people paying for health services.. the more doctors can charge.. to the point of excess...

solution: reduce demand.... for a while i thought that the flood of health care professionals into the work place would drop prices a tad but it has not.. the ONLY thing that reduces what a business charges is reduction in demand..

so this is why i think government forced health care is bullshit.. it does NOT fix the problem, because if anything.. it makes the problem worse.. now doctors KNOW you have health care... they KNOW its on the government dime... i brought my grandmother to the hospital recently and she has insane health care.. they ran EVERY test known to mankind on her.. because they KNOW they are going to get paid.. lol it was absurd.. as long as thats the mentality, financial recovery is NOT going to happen..

but again the key is to not lose sight of the bigger picture.. and that is to restore middle class.. take lawyers for instance.. want to kill that ridiculously over priced profession.. make it easier for people to represent themselves.. make laws more easy to understand.. less need for lawyers.. less cost...

the problem is really ALL about

group C making $XXXXX a year
