i think it just unlocks it so you can buy it eairly. or maybe you have to buy it in the car lot now but its free. idk.

^^ yea at lvl 20 you get the r8. i hit lvl 21 wednesday but havent had a chance to play since, and i probably won't get a chance til sunday. i'm already having withdrawals. i haven't spent any time doing car graphics or modifying cars. i only have about 3 cars that i use for all the races. once i get mostly done with the game i'll start to relax and play around with it. i am extremely upset that i can't import my F2 custom graphics. i spent hours and hours making those damn cars look perfect

so the best place to wreck a car, ive discovered, is the updated new york track. those chicanes are b-r-u-t-a-l !! i've flipped like 3 different cars going through those

so nobody replied to my question about the clutch

anybody using manual with clutch?? i've almost got it mastered.. occasionally i miss shift while doing "heel-toe" which is technically right middle finger - left middle finger

I played w/it in the demo and got used to it mostly but my biggest prob is braking and clutching, I don't like using 2 fingers on a shoulder........

that's what i was talking about. heel-toe downshifting. i'm using the controller config #7 i think - clutch is A button, gas and brake are triggers, and up and downshifting are top buttons. that was the closest setup to the F2 layout that i was using while still incorporating the clutch. so basically my right thumb presses the clutch while my left center finger is braking and my right center finger is rev matching the motor, then my left index finger taps the downshift. as long as i don't have cars riding my ass in a race i can do the downshift pretty smoothly, but once the stress gets brought on i end up f***ing the transmission by mis-shifting

I use it. i love the fact that there is a clutch and makes drifting much more.....realistic i guess. you can clutch pop. thats right. it actually works in fm3 lol.

lol. i did the same thing. i was looking at the map before racing the track and it didnt look any different. i just figured ok maybe its backwords. nope. lol. i noticed the turn right at the last second doing about 160. it was one of the wider ones and i almost made it. .... almost lol. i clipped the corner and went for a bit of a tumble. lol
