In light of this recent thread:
http://www.clubcivic.com/board/showthread.php?t=177654
i decided a few things needed said.
so heres some tips for all you posers out there who want a sponsor for your civic.
theres really only 2 ways to go about doing this
1. you gotta know someone BIG! not just the guy at autozone... i mean f**king EPIC! head of the local tire shop? maybe youll get a set of tires? maybe just some decals?
other than that... you need to know big names in big places... you want a full ride? you better be owning the local tire shop... or you know the head of skunk 2 or some s**t... if your this far along... you shouldnt be reading this...
2. the other way.... and most likely... your only way...
YOU WORK YOUR MOTHER f**king HANDS TO THE BONE!
you pour all of your blood, sweat, tears, money and everything else you have into your car...
and by money i dont mean your parents money... YOUR money. working at jiffy lube aint gonna cut it.
then once you do that... you take that s**t to the track...or wherever you want to get sponsored... and you f**king DOMINATE in every aspect of the game. you OWN everything your up against.
you do this... and you will be noticed.. and then offered a sponsorship....
the key to a sponsorship.... is doing your own work... when a sponsor is looking to sponsor someone... they are not looking at the guy who built your motor... otherwise... they will sponsor him... not you. when a sponsor asks you a question... you know the answer... none of this.." well youll have to ask my mechanic"
you know what your car has... and what it can do.. and how much it costs.
you must understand this... a sponsorship isnt going to supply you with a crew... anything they give you.. you must install yourself... you cant take the s**t and sell it off for cash thats not what they do.. the provide you with parts or cash to buy parts... in exchange for advertisement. you must also continue to f**king DOMINATE in every aspect of the game.
so you think you have what it takes?
well see....
