ls/vtec supercharged

I have a friend who is about to swap an LS b18 into his eg hatch, planning to turbo later. He calls me lastnight and asks what i think about a turbo LS/vtec, i told him to go for it it will make good power as long as you take your time and build it correctly. he calls me again 15 minutes later and says, "supecharged ls/vtec." i told him i havnt heard of it done yet and that sparked him even more. so i told him i would ask you guys. so what do you think? an ls/vtec with a supercharger, or turbo and why would be appreciated too.

the price of a decent SC is 2200ish.. you can get a good turbo kit for that AND have room for more boost.. a SC has only 6-8lbs and not worth it IMO

My exact thoughts, pulleys can only be made so small. turbo has so many different power options.

There is a guy around my parts running a JRSC that he sent to LHT and had ported / rebuilt. He's currently running 19 psi. So it isn't that it can't be done, it just costs a lot of $$$. lol

I say SC the ls/vtec to be different. Instant boost, plus you get that super cool whistle when you step on it. I am rocking out on a JRSC'd D16y8 and I love it.

Also, I will say from experience that it is much easier to tune a sc'd motor than turbo'd. I am saying this because the supercharger's power band throughout the rpm band is more linear than a turbo'd motor, thus making it a little easier to tune IMO. (that's if he plans on tuning it himself)

turbo it... f**k a super charger. the only way it would be different from other boosted ls vtecs is it would be slower. Turbo is the way to go
