I've got a 94 EJ1 (B16A swap) coupe. Are there identifiers on the transmission so I can figure out what I have?

if its a GSR trans its a y80, which is a hydro tranny.
but it could be another LSD trans, and just because of the LSD he assumed it was a GSR.
the y21 is an LSD trans too i believe..

Thanks guys! I'm going to do an oil change early next week on it, I'll look all over the transmission from under the car to find more markings to figure out what it is. It is a hydro, no cable trans and the engine is a B16A (sorry to leave that info out :(

I haven't driven the car enough to figure out if its LSD. But since the front right tire is heavily worn and the rest arent. I'm guessing it doesn't have a LSD.

take it on a dirt road and get on it a bit to spin the tires, does dirt fly from both front tires?
the one lesser tire does kinda scream no lsd..

but yet with an LS trans in my hatch, it would roast up both front tires and leave 2 nice marks on the road.. my trans may have had a modified differential, idk..

but if its hydro, and its non LSD, its not the y21 cus thats an LSD trans.
you either have a s80(hydro LS trans) or a S1/J1 (JDM X-SI trans)..

hope this helps!
