So now that I'm making some money with this new job, I think i'm finally going to be in the market for a new car. I went through a Subaru Legacy phase at one point in time and I kinda still want to go back to it. If I were going to go that route it would be a 2005-2008 legacy GT man tran. My curiosity is how long will the thing run, assuming I stay on top of maintenance which I always do with my cars. I am so used to all my hondas going 250-300k miles.

I guess if no Legacy, I am going to go 2006 Accord Coupe V6. *shrugs* Either or. AWD is cool but honda reliability is even cooler.

Opinions?

Reliability=warranty. New cars don't break! I'd go with a subby.

Subarus are almost as reliable as Hondas.. I've seen a few come into work with 250-300k

the legacy!!!! anything will last if you take care of it. plus the legacy is something different. Accord are nice dont get me wrong but..they are a dime a dozen. get the legacy its rare. its quick and you will still have the reliability.

Lol. See this is why I am at such a crossroads. I loved my Legacy to death when I had one before but my Honda's have never done me wrong.... And I mean besides the obvious FWD/AWD battle, they produce similar horsepower (250 vs. 240 or 286 if it's 2009+ Accord), similar weights (3500 vs. 3258lbs), and similar price tags for these years.

get a wrx or a 2.5rs.
If I wanted either of these, I would've have put it in my original post. :P Love both these cars but I'm over the small car phase and ready to move back into a luxury sedan/coupe.

I was looking for a legacy gt when I was car shopping for the missus. found a few but I couldn't find any deals. You're looking at about $15k + starting with a '05

I'm gonna be looking for another car soon and I'm not going to lie, I'll probably buy another civic. A EK this time tho. s**t, I could fill it up for about $25bucks and use it for 3 weeks without having to add more gas. I spend about $50 a week on my g35 :thumbdown

Yup. My 05 legacy cost my 12.5 about a year or so ago, but 15 is about the top of my price range.

I guess it'a all depending in the part of the country you live but you will probably need more than $15k for a '05+ legacy gt. You might be able to find a cheaper priced one out of state but then the taxes and fees get you.

if you just want something nice, look around. There's TONS of deals out there! I bought my '06 g35x for like $16k with 50k mi. premium package 2, AWD, 280hp, extended warantee..... all that s**t! They wanted a little over $18k but I got them to drop it down and throw a new paint job. When it came out 3yrs ago it went for around $36k and I haven't found one around my area for less than $22k.

I had a trick up my sleeve tho ;)

if you dont mind 25 mpg you should go with a legacy. i just bought mine a month ago and i couldnt be happier. mine cost $11.7k but its not a gt, still its AWD Triptronic and SUPER comfortable. plus you live in WA dont you think you'll be needing AWD with the winters we have here?

yeah but the legacy gt requires premium gas because it's boosted and if you are boosting everywhere you drive the mpg's go down fast. I mean, you can run regular but it's not too good for the motor. My ride requires premium as well and it sucks.

I think I've skimmed over a few threads on NASIOC with a few guys that have hit the 150K mark in their '05 LGT's...... Might want to look over there? So far, the LGT's I've seen around town look like they're running pretty reliable.
