which one would be better for daily driving and the once a week quarter mile a d16y8 with pistons and rods making 300whp or a b18c1 stock making 300whp??? probably a no brainier but hey I wanna know something tells displacement will be better but there's only one way to make sure and that's just ask.

i w2ant to know on how u plan to make a 300whp car with just pistons and rods....

but i would say b18 more tq u will enjoy it more
the same way import tuner laid down 500whp in a stock b16...a huge turbo and tuning

My bad this is gonna be on pump gas and with a gt35 turbo .63 turbine .70 compressor its a 55 trim. If i do the D series its gonna have Vitara pistons and eagle rods but other than that stock. With high boost levels about 12-15psi it would hopefully be 300whp. The B series would be all stock with a safe 8 psi with a goal of 300whp. So yes now that I have cleared my question I'm asking which would be better as a daily and a 1/4 mile car. Thanx

Both plants make for a good daily. Both can be used for motorsports too. take in to consideration how well you want to to do on the weekend or how efficent of a daily you want it to be. tough decision :( good luck though

on a vitara build 12-15 psi on a 35r wont make 300.

and 15 psi isnt high boost levels lulz

maybe im confused i thought that a .63 turbine spools good as a lot of turbos have them and a compressor of .70 would spool great for power on the top so it wont fall off on the top end. i had a 45 trim on my d16z6 and it spooled up really fast. so i was thinking that gt35 being a 55 trim would be great for power but as im reading im wrong so please can you clarify cuz im obviously retarded

like i see that people are running 57 trim t3/t4 on sohc and dohc. so thats why i thought a 55 trim would be good also kinda follow???

a 57 trim is excellent for a vitara build. should make 300 in the 19-20psi range. the hks ssqv wont hold much more than 18psi before it leaks. and 450cc injectors will be pretty much at the limit @ 300whp

i always wanted to do a b20 but i was gonna keep stock internals if i did a b series and i was told that b20 cannot hold crap for power when turbochargered seeing how you would recommend it whats ur experience with them?

dude ur not getting it.. it takes alot more then just adding a turbo kit and having a fast everyday car..
what compression are u trying to run??
what ecu is it? who is going to tune it..
pistion and rods with a turbo kit will not do what u want it to with some other key things..

now if i was u i would b get stock b20 with a bolt on turbo kit. a small turbo like a 50 trim or a 60-1 cause the 2L will spin the turbo faster then a 1.6 and get it tuned.. if u cam to my shop thats what i would tell u to do it will give u the best bang for ur buck and give u more then enough room to grow if u wanted more power later on...
he said stock block. so stock compression. and vitara pistons and rods with a turbo kit will make good power. i know, trust me

the b20 sleeves are super super thin. i would NOT recommend boosting on a stock sleeve b20

just gonna throw my 2 cents in and i'd go with the b series, just cause it would be more torquey

definately go with the b series, it will be a lot easier to upgrade in the future, and will likely be able to handle the rigorous daily abuse at 300whp. the drivetrain is quite a bit stronger in the b series, larger displacement and more efficient motor will spool up faster and make more power up top, just be more fun to drive.

so what you are saying is you have no experience and you just go by what you read in books?

whp has nothing to do with how a motor holds up? nothing at all? interesting. did you know there is actually more air inside of each cylinder of motor A, even at the same boost level.... you dont think the increase cylinder pressure playes a roles in how long that stock sleeved b20 will last?
he tunes cars for a living...of course he knows.

op- if you have questions about a turbo d16 ask me. if i dont have the answer i know 2 people that do. Bisimoto and james - 2 of the best singlecam builders/tuners in this country
