Ok so a couple days a go i got pulled over for my window tint that is 30 percent. I know its illegal and i thought that it would be light enough to get passed the state cops, but i was wrong. I got a citation for 109 bucks and i don't have the money to pay for it. The pa law states that No person shall drive any motor vehicle with any sun screening device or other material which does not permit a person to see or view the inside of the vehicle through the windshield, side wing or side window of the vehicle. No where does it state that your tint has to be below the 70 percent that cops go by. I was wondering if anyone else fought against it and won, or got the fine reduced at least, thanks.

I am on my third Civic. My two previous were tinted. One 5% all around, got pulled over within 6 months. Next one had 25% all around. I got pulled over within 1 year. Aftermarket tint is 100% illegal in PA. Probably one of the biggest cop attract-ers.

OP, to try and answer your question, try and call the station and speak with the officer. Maybe, if he is nice enough, could reduce it to a fix-it ticket. Just pull the tint off to avoid future issues. You could also try and get a note from your eye doctor stating you have light sensitivity issues =)

after market tint was 100% illegal in Pa until kind of recently... now it must allow 70% of light in.

I had doubled 5% on my jeep and I was never bothered, but then again my friend had 5% on his si and he got pulled over like our first week here at school. It's pretty much all about the car I guess :what:

I was pulled over 4x for tint with my old EJ1 (20%) and I never got a ticket, all verbal warnings, a couple of the troopers even told me they didn't have a meter on them so they couldn't prove anything.
