1st snow last night in Montreal, Canada too! went out for a lil snow drift session and almost crashed in the sidewalk...I hate snow except for the drift part its kinda fun if you dont crash lol

Sucks you had to learn the hard way, just try not blaming teh snow, take responsibility and learn from your mistakes so you don't wreck her again.

aw that sucks. here's a few things i always keep in mind.

• never slam the breaks on snow, use torque breaking to your advantage.
• begin your break earlier then usual
• gradually come to a stop rather then slide to a stop
• if your sliding and can't stop at all, look for something soft to stop you.
• if your sliding and there's cars in front of you hit the curb rather then the cars.
• learn to counter steer

i usually go out into an empty parking lot, or back road and get the feel for the snow. every season. when i first got my license my dad told me to take the old farm truck out and get the feel for the snow, i was f**king around on the back roads around my house in an 8K lb. truck with no abs and rear wheel drive. never had any problems with the civic.
