everyone will have their own opinions.. GSR, B16, or LS personally, i use a LS for the torque and shorter red line on my boosted B20.

for the ls redline i would say gsr. i have a b16 on my ls and on a setup making 300 hp thats going to be alot of shifting going down the track lol. i shift into fifth at 100 and making 300whp you will be trapping over 100

i would go with the ls it has longer gears witch would prolly be better for turbo

and why would longer gears be better for turbo? or are you just repeating what you've read/heard?

i kinda have the same question as to wich one will deal with the added stress of a boosted engine. i have a B16 tranny in my ls setup and if you dont shift that motha just right, forget about it! So any knowledgable input?

have you ever had to shift a boosted ls with a b16 trans????? and no not from what ive heard i actually have drove and owned fast cars. Your prolly one of those kids that talks all kindas s**t on the internet about how fast and beast your car is but if it came down to it its prolly a bone stock civic

actually im the first one to admit my car is slow. its not stock. has a b18 swap with a b16 tranny. 15 sec car you best believe its a beast.i know how it is driving an ls with a b16 tranny. which i why i said on an ls with the stock redline i would take a gsr tranny over a b16. stock redline with a boosted ls and b16 tranny you will be into fifth gear before the end of track. i shift into fifth just under 100. with an engine that can rev higher its a different story. shorter gears accelerate faster than longer gears period. boost or no boost.

X2 Thats is true! shorter gears accelerate faster than longer gears period. boost or no boost.

But when you add monster torque, shorter gears arent helping your 60' times So depends on the various set ups people have.

interesting to hear, my buddy with his b18c swap thinks he'll kill me with his longer gears because i have a b16a2 head on b18c1 block (built) with b16 crank and 00 si tranny. we're running fri night to see who wins

how often do you shift you car off rev limitor
Myself? I dont use it on the line.. Dropping the clutch with 223lbs of torque is going to be a disaster on axles...

then again im getting re tuned to improve my 60'.. if i ease it in boost i spin, if im out of boost i bog..

You have stock axles? How are they holding up lol? I'd go with LS tranny for boost...

if your taking it to the track drag racing it alot its worth it. unless you like snapping axles at the line and constantly changing them. which is what will happen if you get sticky tires and try to launch it hard
