you seriously just took all the fun out of it. i posted 2 different motors tuned by the same person, at the same shop. and that second one you posted dosent count for 2 reasons.
1. it looks like the it was done in ms paint
2. that a/f ratio is all f**ked up

oh ya, we never said anything about stock internals. ;)

you actually didnt prove a point. the dyno sheet you posted is f**ked up to begin with. so like i said if the d series i showed made 900 whp, it would make more torque then the b series

i honestly cant find any more dyno sheets of a b18 making ~250whp.

OP you were right in your first post when you said this was a no brainer. If you can afford it, go B. otherwise stay D. hope this was somewhat of a help

well, the $$ spend for a swap AND a kit would be double than if he just got a kit from the start.. he could always build a new bottom end on the side.. Y8 blocks are cheap and a built single cam block is better than an OE ls,B20,b16 (notice i left out the others)

Built SOHC > stock B series

anyone that suggests a D series has more than likely never owned a stock b series turbocharged.

Nah, I've also owned both, and would choose a BUILT bottom end D16 over a STOCK bottom end B18C. Just say for the heck of it the owner (like most do) decides he wants to make more power, 100-150 more HP. What are his options then. Built d series, turn the boost up and tune away. Stock B series, start looking for a block to build...then your back at square one.
whether you are making 300whp in a d16 or 300whp in a b18 you are not making the same tq numbers.

therefore b18 > d16 in this particular instance
Not always true at all. A D series will actually more than likely make more torque than a B16/B18C given similar setups at the same WHP.

obviously those are not stock internals.

Bone Stock d16 using a 60-1 bullseye turbo
Bone Stock b18 using a Greddy 18g turbo making roughly the same whp

Powerband depends completely on everything involved in your setup from type of d or b series motor, to exhaust system, to your tune. Also, no two motors are the same. My point is it is pretty impossible to answer the question the OP posted accurately. thats why i said theoretically in my first post ;)
Those 2 dynos really don't make for a good comparison. Your comparing apples to oranges. An oversized turbo on the D16 vs an undersized turbo on the DOHC. Ones going to make a good topend peak #, while the other makes torque and a fat powerban

I agree. I still say nothing is "wrong" with either; but when you ask which is "better" then your asking for an opinion. Opinions will vary. For 300whp, I'd take a built D over a stock B18c anyday of the week for numerous reasons. 1 being for the simple fact I know I wouldn't be happy at 300whp for very long, it would have to be able to safely make more...which a built D could easily do, a stock B would be getting ready to aircool itself soon.

idk about you, but when I see a civic that looks good, I go to look under the hood and its just a d series, I get let down. f**k the d series you throw a turbo on it and they arent even touching the STOCK hp of a B18C.

that's funny. How much whp do you think a stock B18C actually makes, heck, even better, slap on whatever boltons externally you want, how much do you think it makes??

Sure a B swap will get you the "ooohs and ahhs"...it's so "PRITTAY".

lol, I'm trippin. this is headed way off topic.
FWIW...I am not anti B series

this has deviated way off topic and turned into a B vs D debate. so im closing it. listen to Autoworks and Esotericimage, they have the right idea.

Built > Stock
