isn't just an accessory belt? shouldn't be connected to your wpump. I know Hondas works that way. your timing belt drives the pumps, and your accessory belts drive alt, ac pump, and power stearing.

after your alt went out your car should of just died.

im not arguing, i just don't understand why it overheated.

once the alt belt snaped your alt went out, which would cause the car to just die.

ugh, that sucks shane!! if it's just the alt. belt that snapped, it shouldn't be tough to replace...


edit: just read about the h2opump being hooked up on the same belt. that's not good man. time to run some diagnostics.

^^ yeah but i don't know exactly how long it was overheating for since i dimmed the gauge lights, I wanna say a mile or 2 but i'm not exactly sure, i might map it out.....

I had the radio off, and pulled over the second I heard it gurgling, it was like 20* and I was goin 60 in 6th gear so prolly 2.5k rpm's maybe 3k.

I'm hoping it took a few minutes before it overheated after the belt snapped. Hopefully i heard it right when it started.

I really hope, i can't afford a new motor or much of anything really....
