so I broke my alternator belt lastnight, had to get towed home... I hope it a simple belt replace/fix.........

it is. undo the locking pin and adjuster nut. install new one, push down or up on the alternator till there's tension on the belt, and redo the locking pin and adjuster nut.

^ so, how did it happen?

Well last night i was driving home, and my belt was squealing loud, usually it goes away after a min or so, i get on the E.way and am going 60 and the squeal isn't going away it just keeps getting faster and higher pitch, then it dies out and my Battery light goes on.

I thought it may have something to do w/the cold so i turned off all interior lights and radio ect. then a mile down i hear a gurgling sound coming from the motor, immediately turn my lights back on and see my gauge is all the way H !

So i pull over,

lol my belt snapping, it goes crank to alternator to water pump
