Onkyo TX-SR607 Rock solid unit, 7.2, HDMI switching and up-conversion. Great unit for a hell of a price. You guys spend too much dough.
I have a 42" Samsung HD LCD synch'd with a Samsung BD player w/wireless for Netflix/Pandora/Etc. Mac G4 Pro tower hooked up as well.
My surround sound took a dump when my receiver went up in smoke. I have a 7.1 Yamaha setup sitting in the closet now waiting for a new head unit.
Any suggestions for a new head unit under $500?
To bad it's not his.Thats a nice setup! I've done a few multi-purpose rooms like that at work.
Few questions- Why is the projector so close to the fan? How do you like the Epson projector (if its not an epson, which is it)?
Got any pictures of the rack?
I like. Don't need the upconversion since the BD player takes care of that but I'll need to add a couple fans to the cabinet to insure it stays cool.Onkyo TX-SR607 Rock solid unit, 7.2, HDMI switching and up-conversion. Great unit for a hell of a price.
The bad- it runs a little hot, so ventilation is KEY
B&H has them for $400...
I've got its biggest brother, the Integra DTR-9.9
I knew it wasn't his, if it was, he'd have more pictures of it, and be able to answer my questions. To bad it's not his.
One of the other installers I'm friends with has a separate A/C system for his equipment rack... That insane.I like. Don't need the upconversion since the BD player takes care of that but I'll need to add a couple fans to the cabinet to insure it stays cool.
If you can afford it and have the space, bigger fans (250mm) will be a better investment. they produce less noise and give better CFM than 120s.I have a couple 120mm computer fans I can hook up to the back of the cabinet.
