Finally got an android phone

Anyone have any good apps to pick up? This phone is seriously smarter than I am and it's ridiculous.

Got a Samsung Moment today.

Is it just me or are the droid qwerty keyboard keys insanely hard to press? I don't have one but i was at best buy messin with one and i got thumb pump.

good phone.

i have the HTC Hero...

all i can tell you is take it easy... if this is your first smartphone.

i rooted mine a week after having it... and regreted that because when the update came... i couldnt update.

i fought for a week trying to revert it back.

most of the apps are pretty cool...

the games suck...ish...

this isnt an iphone... or an ipod touch... you cant go flying an airplane in the commercial...

you can however use the phone to control most any aspect of life... like i mentioned in my thread.... you can control your computer from the phone, there is a guy who made one as a garage door opener.

the limits are endless.. but.. there are boundries..

just remember... just because iphone has an app for it... doesnt mean the andriod equivilent is going to perform as well..

Personally im not a fan of crazy smartphone, i mean my dumb phone makes a call/text too. ha
Why spend the extra cash for a few miniscule apps.

That's awesome, I plan on getting an Iphone. My phone broke about a month ago and I think I'm using like the first flip phone to have a camera in it, yeah this thing is cool, if the year is 2003.

android 2.1 will be coming to sprint in the first half of 2010... it blows that we are on an inferior OS... alot of new apps coming out are for 1.6 and above...

Google Goggles is an awesome app... to bad we cant use it till we get an update...

and rooting your phone is pretty cool... there are a ton more apps that are very usefull if you root it.. but.. like anything.. you run the risk of bricking the phone... i thought mine was...

sprint is CHEAP compared to everyone else on a smartphone..

if its just you... and you dont call alot of landlines...

you can get the simply everything for 99 a month

thats unlimited EVERYTHING

for a cheaper route...

its unlimited everything.... but... you only get charged minutes for calling landlines... and who still does that alot?

cheapest plan for that is 69.99 a month... and thats 450 landline minutes.


with an android phone... you must carry a data plan..

also... some androids can still be used as tethers... without sprint catching on... they stopped this on blackberries

i know with verizon... you need to carry a data plan thats an extra 30 a month on top of your bill... then.. if you want to tether... its another 30


most android apps that a typical consumer will use are FREE...



keep this in mind however..

sprint at the moment is shipping thier android phones with android OS1.5

there is an update that will be available first half of the year says sprint... it may come as early as tommorow... we just dont know.

Verizon is shipping thier phones already with android 2.0... and a few with android 2.1

not bad actually, I used to work for sprint so for the longest time it was about $15 a month for unlimited everything. Then I upgraded and the smartphones had a different data package on them so I was forced to change to the 69.99/month for unlimited data, pix, text, mobile to mobile, and 450 landline minutes. I was pissed about it so the dude bumped it down to 49.99 a month for me.

also... sprint does alot of employee discounts... so... your company... no matter who your work for... may qualify..
