Hey all, I'd like to start off by saying that if this post is in the wrong forum, I apologize. I didn't see a "general" forum, so I figured i'd post here.
I was looking for a car.
A guy I know through work offered to sell me his 1991 DX Hatch for $1500. He brought it by the next day and I took it for a brief spin. Ran fine, did quick starts and stops, no issues. Got the VIN, carfaxed it. I have a couple pictures i'll be posting below.
The Carfax says it was involved in a " front impact. It hit another motor vehicle. Front area primarily damaged" in 2007. It also had an EML Title (Exceeded Mechanical Limits) due to Odometer rollover (5 digit Odometer going past 99.999 i guess) Reported mileage on vehicle, carfax is 136,000. (accident was 20k+miles ago)
The basic story behind the car is that my friend at work bought it from a friend of his at an Auto Body shop after the engine, suspension and brakes were all rebuilt/worked on respectively. He originally bought it as a gas-saver to use for work instead of his truck, but the wife freaked out at the new car purchase. The body was touched up (as you'll see in pics), and it all LOOKS new. I'm not the most mechanically inclined, but other people who I work with are, and they seemed impressed.
I'm taking it in to a local mechanic within the next couple days and what he says will go/no-go it, but I was reading these forums and I figured i'd see if you guys had any advice/thoughts on this all.
TL;DR: Car with maybe some issues but rebuilt engine, take a look at pretty pictures. and tell me what you think!
Front/Side view. Guy selling it to me has is in the process of opening the hood which is why there's a gap between hood and body.

The Engine. Based on my research here and elsewhere, it looks like the rebuilt the D15B2. No cheap B-series for me!
