I'd sell the motor and drop a B-Series VTEC motor back in there instead of boosting it. An EM1 with a non-VTEC motor just ain't right IMO.

I'm a fellow old man so I feel ya though lol

when you gotta juggle around diapers for a one and two year old, three dogs and all involved with a family! im lucky to have a build to show off at all. a Vtec would be sick but i dont have Vtec money.lol i actually just pulled the head off the car for a light port polish job, new valve guides, and springs. ill post up the pics in the build section under EM1_finalprep. thnx guys for the input. anybody got any for my lowering/camber question above?

you have a 99-00 civic si with out vtec?????? thats a fail!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

uhm, to you, i work with what im given. sorry im not lodaded with money to make the Vtec enabled happy with more Vtec cars on the road. oh wait, no im not. Its about me and what i like for MY ride, what a notion!

someone downgraded, its just mind blowing to me someone would make a civic si, non vtec, slower and hurting the value. a ls engine might be a tad bit funner in stop and go traffic due to the torque advantage, but is slower in the 1/4 mile 0-60 and top speed overall. its almost like looking at a 97-01 prelude and popping the hood and seeing a accord engine instead of a dohc vtec h22, sorry if i hurt your feelings

It comes down to the fact that i had no control over what engine was in it when i bought the thing. I've been building a little at a time, and the money that goes into getting a twin cam Vtec ready for boost i didnt/dont have. sorry if i hurt your feelings by not having a Vtec, oh wait, no im not! happy new years guys. and dont hate to much cause i dont have a third cam lobe. A good set turbo cams will do wonders! it aint Vtec but its better than stock ls cams

your car is still funny to look at knowing whats missing, you still have a b series, just buy a vtec head timing belt and water pump, then run a vtec ecu and harness and your car will look a million times better

What does that hand signal mean on the lower right hand corner of the windshield on your EM1?

EDIT: Lol, I just looked it up, is that the "shocker" hand gesture?

Yup its the shocker and i love pullin up behind cops with it. They hate it. Had one try to pull me for it. He pulled me over, sat behind my car, say my Marine Corps Vetrerans tag and just drove off with out even getting out. He sat behind me like ten seconds! hey EGJDM ima buy a red Vtec Valve cover just to shut you up! how does my valve cover not saying Vtec make it "look funny" . Its noy about asthetics to me. I am level headed enough to say, that If i had a Vtec head with my setup i would smash out on folks. But, i dont. So i work with what i have. A Vtec setup on puts me over my budget by like 2500.00 for quality remanufactured head and new OEM honda parts. Hey EGJDM, you got that for me so i can put a Vtec head on. Didnt think so. Happy new year and im not mad just tired of explaining why i dont have a Vtec motor in the car.

so the s2000 has vtec thats no good? or the nsx? or the prelude type-s? i know the 2003 civic si i-vtec is a fake dohc vtec system. only thing different between dohc vtec and dohc i-vtec is cam phasing, both still have a high rpm switchover =, the dohc ivtec in the 2003-05 si does not, and a engine is a air pump, and a vtec head flows more air then a head with out vtec. so no matter what a vtec head is better then a ls head because the vtec head can flow more air. more air=more power

you know what, you just missed it, i actually had a ported and polished b16 head from a delsol vtec, i only got rid of it for 50 bucks, thing sat in my basement for 2 years just collecting dust, and i said its funny because you have a 99-00 civic si, and that cars comes stock with a doch vtec b16 engine. my old 97 prelude that comes from the factory with a dohc vtec h22a4, now if i had a accord enigne in the bay,,,,, that would look pretty funny,,,,,, so looking at your car considering you still have the DOHC VTEC stickers on your car and a ls engine is pretty funny, and the fact that you wanna boost it but you say you have no money to put the right engine in your car is pretty funny also

EGJDM, i agree hole heartedly on the sticker comment. Ive been rapped up in engine work. Would have loved to found that head a month ago. The "right engine"........ right to who? you. im gona break it down barny style for ya. im doin what i want and if you dont like the way my car looks or is built, oh well. One more time now. i have a set amount. To switch to a Vtec is 2500 over what i have,i cosidered it, trust me. how hard is that to understand. now if u got a legit comment or suggestion i will be more than happy to entertain almost any idea. As for bashin on the Ls, stopp hatin and nock it off or your grounded for a week!
