Can this be considered a butterknife?

we call it a butter knife because thats what we commonly use it for... because us as typical consumers... cannot see buying a special knife for butter... when we can use what comes in the set of silverware instead.

to me its a butterknife because thats what i use it for.. i also use it for everything else other than steak... ill use it to cut sandwiches. spread peanut butter, cut cheese, cut ham, cut a hot dog, anything that doesnt require a really sharp edge.. ill use the same serrated looking butter knife..

myself.. i cannot see buying a special knife for butter...when theres 20 of the others in the drawer to use..

i think yes it is, also my home's butter knifes have small teeth, due to the scale of this knife the small teeth make it looks like a serrated knife

haha, I'd say that I feel no less than a man for the reason being that I am unfamiliar with dinnerware and its terminology.

All the answers seem to either say that it's a regular knife or a butter knife, but the majority say it's a butter knife. I'm gonna go with butter knife.

The potential flaw here is the presumption that a majority vote equates to being correct. Facts remain facts even when a majority disagrees with them.

It's a "spread" knife. Usally they can be sold as a two piece set with a small cutting board for cheese balls & crackers and make great lousy gifts during holidays and birthdays.
Ok, so it's a spread knife and not a butterknife (I just didn't want to lose the bet).
