Today sucks

under a foot of snow was a parking island... there was nothing else around it... no poles... no trees...

so.. at that depth... and at night... everything is one big open area... you cannot see minor things like that.. and that is all i hit... as i was sideways when i hit it... on purpose..

i didnt hit the island on purpose... just had the car sideways...

and without the use of the ebrake.... i was full on the accelerator in a massive drift...

if you have never driven an AWD car in the snow... you just wont know what the car can do... i never need the ebrake... just the throttle. the car responds to every input as if it was made to do it.

there just happen to be a parking island in the way.

Well, uh, maybe you shouldn't be drifting in a foot of snow.

you people need to learn how to drive... when i had my civic... i never got it stuck... and never ran into anything in the snow.

i drive a subaru now... and the only thing i hit was a curb from an invisible parking island when i was drifting through a parking lot

i drove a civic that had 3.5" drop on it and full lip kit and i never got stuck.

and like chris i also drive a subaru now.

-12 in NM? Wow, I'm freezing too! Its a blistering 50-something here in South Florida....

Now I'm not gonna brag about 'how much better' this place is..... 10, 20 years down the line, we'll be under water, you wont. [and if ur not a believer of global warming, .... ..... ummm, read, try to be smarter!]

As for all you northeners, I drove a few (like a total of less than 5h) times on slippery roads (i think its called black ice) and it wasnt fun. I didn't crash or anything like that but I barely gripped (cause of the million HP I got on my D16, lol) so I guess I never actually built up enough speed to lose control. anyways, you live and you learn (and if you dont, ur dumb), life costs and crashing just makes life more expensive.... perhaps try learning how-to's of body work....

OP, I'm right there with you. I'm in St. Louis Park and had the same temp!

Next week its supposed to be decent though. So that's good!

And I've NEVER hit anything in my Subaru's. I know to look at the lot to see if theres anything hidden before I start my shenanigans.
