I just got a red 1999 civic ex coupe and i wanted everyones opinion on what i can do to improve looks and make it faster. Beware that i'm not used to the common terminology so please go easy

Everyone likes to see pictures of the ride, so post some as quickly as possible.

as stated above^^^^^^ make sure everything is in top mechanical shape before you start modding. First off, dont waste your money with body kits and lights and spoilers and cosmetic things that dont add enjoyment to your ride. Im not knocking it if thats your style, everyones entitled to mod their car the way they want. As for appearance, get yourself a lip and maybe some oem style headlights. The ex is already pretty good in the style dept, so keep the white and red tails they look super clean. As far as performance, I promise you will get the most enjoyment out of your car if you start with your suspension. A good set of shocks and springs with a drop that fits your tastes. get yourself a rear sway bar. Your car already handles like its on rails, but it will feel like a go-kart once its lowered and stiffened up in the rear. (haha, stiffened in the rear) With engine modding, you cant expect too much more power out of your D16y8 motor unless you go turbo. If you do go turbo you have a lot of research to do so wait a couple years...... If you dont want to go turbo, Only buy mods that you can still use if you swap the engine. Most people say not to waste money on intake or exhaust for a D series, but Intake and exhaust can be used with a b series as well. Start by making a fun platform with suspension, then do your research to start builiding power. =)
