Emission Inspection Texas

I have a 97 civic with a test pipe on my exhaust and wanted to know if it will pass the emission inspection here in Texas. I have no check engine light since I installed my test pipe. What do you think? Pass or Fail?

No Cat....I do have a second o2 sensor on the test pipe.

Does texas do the roller test, or the OBD2 port test?

Does the CEL work? Because you should be throwing a cat CEL code.

100% sure CEL works....went to autozone and its not throwing any code because no CEL.

If your not throwing a code and your ecu is in a "ready" state, then the car should pass.

Did AutoZone hook up a scan tool? Because to know whether the CEL works, turn the key to ON(II) and watch the CEL. It should turn on and then off after 2 seconds if there are no codes stored in the ECU.
I am pursuing this point further with you because a CEL code absolutely should be thrown if you don't have a cat, unless someone installed a secondary O2 sensor simulator. How long have you owned the car? Some unscrupulous sellers will disable the CEL or, alternatively, the CEL bulb can burn out.

Went to inspection shop yesterday and my Civic passed the emission test. I didnt tell them I have no Cat and they didnt even bother to look underneath the car. So, I am happy I dont have to re-install my Cat to my civic.
