I don't really know the appropriate area for this, so I put it here.
I'm looking to buy my first Honda here in a week or so, and I honestly really don't know what I'm doing. I know alot about car's, I even own my own shop, but never gotten into alot of import stuff in depth. With other vehicles I spent alot of money on part's and vehicles, that quite honestly, I never should have. I mean vehicles with no aftermarket support, or super expensive part's, vehicles with for little gain per cost, etc..
So that's what bring's me to Honda's. For my DD, I need reliablility, and fuel mileage. Since I have a truck to haul with when I need to, and other vehicles to drag race, etc. But I don't just want regular old put put car reliability like a Corrola or something, i want something with style, something with potential, something I can be proud to DD. Something like a Civic.
I guess my question is, is there any particular Civic to look for, or any to avoid? Does any one have more potential than another in the end? I've been looking at late 90's hatch's, because I can actually haul a transmission in one, and have a little room, and I've found a few I like, but I really don't know.. Should I go stock? Or B series swapped? Or should I avoid other peoples problem car's?
Basically, any tips for a soon to be Civic owner? Thanks guy's
