So I was driving and my speedometer stopped working, then s**t started shutting off...okay, its my alternator...then i changed it out and the car started right up. I get in to drive it, and i take off and the speedometer is TWEAKING out..its going from like 5mph to 40 to 35, just all over the place....so Anyone have any idea what that might be from? And another this is that since i changed the alternator, when the car is warm is revs from like 1000 to 1700 up and down constantly....any help would be great! Oh and before the alternator died everything was fine.

right below your battery on your tranny is your speed sensor check that out. maybe poor some water on it and see it the water will patch a missing link in the electrical connections. trust me it should work mine did the same. or just maybe try disconecting your battery and clear the cels on you ecu maybe it is just a code from the atlenator.

disconecting the battery will reset the ecu. you will have to leave the cables off for like 10-20min, or if you know where the ecu is (behind kick panel on passenger side below dash and infront of door). pull the panel off and unplug the ecu. if it still does the same try the water trick,

its probably you VSS sensor (vehicle speed sensor), it sits ontop of the tranny, same thing happened to me a few weeks ago.

my speedo problem went away after i installed a new alternator, a high output alternator at that!

and also, if your idle is too high or fluctuating you need to clean out the IAVC, i did this just the other day and it worked!
