sounds good! :thumbs up

I'm not sure if you posted this already but are you going to be using this for drag racing or auto x?
autox and hill climb racing. I need the cage for hill climbs because there's no runoffs for a f**kup, just big trees and boulders.

Car is off at the rally shop. The cage will bring the car back over 2,000lbs but I think replacing the rear glass with lexan will go pretty far to offset the difference.

Still have to knock out the rest of the sound deadening, shits messy what the f**k did Honda use to make this stuff?

I'm not going to do a damn thing lol. This isn't a daily driver in the least sense of the word (I have the DC5 for that). Noise isn't much of an issue and I don't think this stuff is doing much anyway. Car didn't seem much louder on the 2 hour drive to the rally shop.

No rear seats in a CRX unless you get a JDM one, which is more of a bench with seat belts than anything else.

You should get a cheap rig and beat on it!

Powerplant? Sticking with the A6 this season, it's running strong and it's one less thing to worry about. I want to get the chassis sorted out.

Once winter comes (and hopefully I'll have bought a house by then) I'll take the engine out and give it a rebuild and a small snail. Don't want a bunch of power since it's hard to cram wide rubber under this thing, 225's seem to be the limit before I'm flaring the fenders. Should be able to get 180hp at the wheels with a small Volvo turbo around 6-7psi, easy on the engine too.

These are the rims and tire I have for this summer. Thinking of selling the Azenis (new enough that you can see Azenis in the tread) and buy something wider and stickier.

They're Drag rims (el cheapos) but fairly light at around 15lbs each and if I have an off and wreck a rim I'm not out $400. I know a guy who cracked a spoke on his SSR's so I'm confident in buying something a little heavier and replaceable.

The tires are 205's, I'd have to check the section width (I think 50) but they're 15's. They're $80 a pop on discount tire direct so I'd look for something like $250 for the set, which is half of what my new rubber will cost lol.

Car will done back from the shop next weekend.

New wheel and quick release came while the car was away:

The quick release will be absolutely necessary to make getting into the car easy with the double-X door bars.

I'll finally be picking the car up Saturday morning and bringing it straight to the lake for some ice race practice.

Total cost tally:
CRX — $1,000
Gutted — FREE
Chipmunk s**t — FREE
Steering wheel — $175
Quick Release — $50
Momo hub — $70
Ice racing tires — $150 + 5 hours labor (pics coming)
Roll cage — $1,200
Test pipe — $125
Aluminum sunroof blank — FREE
Total: $2,770

Sold the JDM cluster and a couple interior pieces for $75. Have the rest of interior up for sale too. Selling some of my race support stuff from the DC5 for another $100 (tie rods, braided brake lines, camber bolts).
