civic beats gti?

i have a 93 ej with an ls swap. the only mods i have right now are cold air intake, short shifter, and exhaust right now... but a vw gti was revving his engine at me for 3 consecutive lights. i finally decided to go ahead and street race him even though i thought i;d get my ass kicked... i ended up getting like 2 car links ahead of him before i even got out of 3rd... was he just a bad driver or is an ls really that much faster??

he probably was just a bad driver and didnt think you were going to do anything after not racing for three lights. but then again. the little ej weighs alot less then a gti does.

some are fast, the lower models are pretty slow. I've got a b16a2 and got mashed on by one, but I've beaten a few others.

He was probably just a bad driver but i have seen some simple modded hondas beat a gti, they really aint that fast, they have what 200 hp or something like that and converted to the wheels its what bout 170. Then your ls has i think 142hp and bout 120 or so to the wheels, then plus the intake and exhaust may get you 10 hp. So you might have bout 130 to the wheels. These are just estimates so nobody get panties in a wod lol.

So there is bout a 40 whp difference there and the weight will not be that great of a difference there. So you could of beat him fair but then again i think he was a bad driver.

your thinking of the r32 gti,vr6 are ff and what everybody else said op you beat the driver not the car unless there's something wrong with motor of the guy you just raced

I ran a r32 from a roll and won. I also STOMPED a modded gti vr6 AND the f**king gti broke something while running me. It was his fault because he kept on wanting to race me hopping I misshifted or something. The funny thing is that I did misshift, slipped behind but came back and STILL beat him. Being an R32 owner and my brother having a 1.8t GTI this really doesn't surprise me in the least. I'll admit my car is quick and will throw you back but most cars with an aftermarket boost of some kind would win. Esp a ED that probably is half the weight of an R.
