I have a 96 civic coupe 1.6 single cam...recently everything on my car pulsates pretty much...the lights dim in and out really quickly and when it gets real bad the tachometer just goes crazy. I changed out the alternator, the alternator belt, and put in a brand new battery all at the same time...and i'm still having the problem. When i shut the car off..it won't start again...i have to jump it. The battery just won't stay charged...and it's not the alternator because i just put a new one with the belt. Any ideas? I'm stuckk ?

Any CEL codes? Check whether 7.5A fuse 15 in the dash fuse box is blown and, if so, read the fuse 15 TSB in my signature.

I'm with RonJ on the fuse.

I would also check over your connections thoroughly. Make sure they are tight and not corroded, broken, cracked. This includes the battery terminals as well. A badly corroded terminal connection would throw off symptoms of what you are saying.

would this cause the voltage of the car to just shut off at times as well.
A bad connection? Most definitely. Think about it. As you drive the vibration causes the connection to touch and disconnect off and on. It would be a toss of a coin when the connection is good enough to work correctly.
