How do you like your intake? would you recommend it over a regular ram or cold air? do you really get the perks of having both?

Well, its kinda hard to tell. Before I hooked up the hose to the end of the filter I removed part of the filter where the air comes through. Ive been running like that for a few weeks now and Im pretty sure I can tell a bit of a difference. It definately feels like it has a bit more power.

Yesterday, I removed my filter completely and just hooked the hose to the end of the pipe and Im not sure. I know its not safe to run without a filter. I just dont think its getting enough air without the filter. I definately reccomend running ram air WITH a filter. Just my .02.

lol..thanks man. Ive gotten a lot of my stuff from Password JDM, JHP USA, Inline Four, Atlantic Speed seller on Ebay, Street Rays seller on Ebay.

I really like all of these companies, espically JHP. Everytime Ive bought something from them, theve sent me a 10% coupon. The coupon works on just about anything. I used it to buy my Hondata S300. I payed $507 shipped for my Hondata!! If I can help any other way let me know, thanks!! =)

Small Update: I just received a bunch of small stuff straight from Honda:

upper and lower timing belt covers, timing belt cover gaskets, header bolts, intake manifold bolts, valve cover grommets, valve cover bolts, and spark plug cover.

I'll def. post pics with part numbers later if anyone's interested.

man your civic is nyce. If you don't mind me asking so far how much $$$ have you put into it? Either way it still looks like damn nice engine swap. If you have any helpful tips for a college grad starter please let me know I want to do a GSR Swap for my EJ....

Thanks man. Ive been putting a spreadsheet together since Ive started the build a year and a half ago. Ive been keeping all receipts as I go. I just got through adding all of it up. As of now, I have spent a little over $11,400. BUT this includes engine, transmission, gauges, gaskets, fender washers, timing belt, pretty much anything going under the hood or for the engine.

I guess I would say to definately finish up your school. I dont want to sound like a Bible thumper or anything, but the Lord has really blessed me. He helped me get through school, land a decent job, and gave me a patient fiance who is understanding enough to let me finish my car. I would say work hard and be patient. Thats my biggest problem. haha =)

Well guys, heres another small update:

Heres some pics of a few parts I received from Honda. Hopefully you can still make out the part numbers. I didnt post pics of the random gaskets or bolts.

Also, I just mounted my velocity stack. I think it looks pretty good. I know some will not like it, but thats ok. To each their own I guess. What do you guys think?

For kicks, heres my dads 68 Camaro:
He did a complete frame off restoration. All work was done by him. Paint, bodywork, everything.

Very nice man. I would suggest painting it black.

Off topic, how do you like that epoxy floor? I just bought a house and want to do that to the garage before I move in. Do you think its worth the $350?

OK everyone, since its fianally starting to feel like spring out, I decided to take some shots of the coupe. Im still very new to image editing. I thought I'd share the only decent shot of the day. This were taken with my Nikon D90 and since I dont have Photoshop, Im forced to edit these with Paint.net. I know this isnt part of the build, but it still shows the new stack (air horn) on the front of the car.

Oh and I forgot to mention that Im going to the track tomorrow evening. I want to see if the ram air adds any power and reduces my time any. My best time on the 1/8th mile is 10.9 @ 63 mph. I'll try to find the slip from the run. The car was dynoed @ 103.6 hp. Its basically a bone stock D16Y7 with a CAI, plug wires, plugs, and muffler. I cannot wait to get the GSR finished and see what it will do. Wish me luck everyone!!

you are so lucky to have a dad that can restore cars like that
Thanks everyone for the comments. It is much appreciated. Yeah I am. Hes really good at what he does. Hes been doing it all of his life though. I must say he is really talented. It helps to have someone that close know what they are doing.

He painted his car, my civic, as well as many others. We are in the process of restoring my moms '70 bug which is going to be House of Kolor Kandy Purple. Also, my big bro just bought my dads old 86 silverado. He is planning on bagging it and possibly painting it House of Kolor Kandy Lime. He's not for sure yet.
Its nice having a family who has cars as a hobby.
