Hello I have a Question Before I make a purchase on some new speakers as well as a 2 channel amp but i wanna make sure it will work on my honda civic (2000 honda civic Dx) with stock head unit: well this is my plan setup... please let me know what you think and if it will work good and i dont want a sub just some good powered speakers:

Stock Head Unit :

Line Out Converter: (If Needed Which Most Likely Will) (Pac Item Number: AOEM-HON20)

Front Speakers: (Infinity Reference 6030cs)

Rear Speakers:( Infinity Kappa 692.9i 6x9's)

And AMP ( Kenwood 2-Channel Amp)

let me know if this combination would work thanks was going to order but wanna make sure it will work before i buy thanks.

your gonna get much better quality out of all that if you loose the stock headunit and get aftermarket

i wanted to keep the stock head unit because im sometimes careless of taking off the face plate and in my area (L.A) they tend to steal stereos as a hobby so i wanted to keep the stock that way no one bothers with breaking my window.

well since it would be easier to install an aftermarket unit i guess i will install a kenwood head unit, and as far as i seen the speakers and amp why are infinity's and jvc amp not a good investment? i seen the suggestions u left me and im not so sure and trust me, having good speakers in the front and having stock 15 watt 6x9's speakers in the back would not improve my sound.

what are you not so sure about?

google phoenix gold rsd review and read the reviews...

seems like you're on an extreme budget, this is what i would recommend

Clarion dx7775usb 138.99
http://www.hookedontronics.com/show_product_details.jsp?cid=51612&c=1003Froogle&b=Clarion_DXZ775USB

This is actually a little beast of a unit. 6 volt preouts & active crossovers. eq is average, though.

Phoenix golds rsd65cs 79.99

10" ssa dcon 115.99

If set up properly, it would sound decent for a budget setup...

471.99 before shipping

that's about as low as you'll get for quality entry level products. you need a nice box for that sub to shine so if u do end up picking it up, shoot me a pm and i'll find u a good box for the sub. DO NOT pick up any ol subwoofer box from ebay or an audioshop since prefab boxes sound like complete s**t.

thank you all that helped me =)
how do i install the amp to the speakers i know u run the power cable from the battery to the trunk and u need speaker wire to run them to the speakers but is there a specific way to install them to make sure they get theyre optimum power? and a 2 channel amp is fine for the front and back speakers right?

and its not that i am on a budget, i just want a decent sound but no sub at the moment just great speakers and a amp to make them sound better, later on ill get a sub but not at the moment

I would just get a decent HU with at least 4x50w channels and get some polk 6.5"s up front then if you decided to go with new rears and a sub, get a 5 channel amp. No need to redo your setup. Just add-on to it bro

how about this setup:

eclipse 4 channel amp (60 watts RMS x 4)

and this kenwood HD Head Unit(KDC-HD545U) CD player with built-in MOSFET amplifier (22 watts RMS/50 peak x 4 channels)

would this work?

Get the mb quart amp..same with the clarion hu

that's about as best as u'll do at a low budget

the mb quart is also better than that clarion

oh wow they are inexpensive 4 channel amps =) do u think mb quart (DSC480) 600watt (80 rmsx4) is good enough to power all 4 speakers?

because rears aren't important

in car audio, less is more. rear speakers just pull ur sound stage back.

a properly setup and amped front stage is all u need

i would also do the big 3 and get a little deadening in the doors if i were you
