thanks guys for the good wishes. before this i was working as a planner in the county government. they were about to start downsizing so i had to take a chance and move on to something else. so far no complaints, except that my work days start at 430am now . i dunno how long i'll be dispatching.. it sounds like its a kind of job that can burn you out really quick, so maybe just a year or two then start looking for something more permanent. we're actually not in the police station, we have a whole seperate building b/c this is a consolidated dispatch center with like soon to be 100+ employees working for all agencies. my main focus is EMS and Fire dispatching.. pretty cool stuff

i'm trying to save a few pennies so i can get comcast installed at home. currently i'm on dialup thus limited clubcivic activity. i got quoted for like $300 for running the cable to my house from across the street .. guess i got no choice
