so... they are socks with soles on them?
Not quite. But close. The particular ones I have are more like neoprene water shoes, and I bought them that way so I could go cliff diving and such with them. And I don't feel like even that description does them justice.
what if you step on glass? in a shoe.. you dont have a problem...
I wondered the same. It doesn't hurt. The sole is hard enough to not make it painful, but thin enough to feel the shape of whatever you're stepping on. I was also worried about maybe a nail, but then again I've had plenty of nails go through my shoes
what about on gravel? i know in bare feet... on gravel... it hurts!
I have really sensitive feet, I can't walk on gravel barefoot, but like with the glass thing, with them on, you feel every pebble, but not the sharpness of them.
and running? if i run in bare feet... i am usually always on the balls of my feet... and i run like an idiot becasue it hurts to put that kind of pressure and shock in my heel... thats why i wear shoes...
Running is a new experience for me. I have always ran in my asics and do the typical heel to toe movement. Naturally the body is designed to run on the balls of the feet, and by wearing these, yes, you do revert to what it's like running barefoot. My legs are sore from using the different muscles, but the impact is slightly absorbed by the thin sole thus making my feet less sore. I feel way more connected with my body and the environment I'm in though. I went hiking in them on Monday and not only did I feel the brush and pinecones and what have you, I could feel the mud and grass without having my feel caked and gross. Simply spray them off with a hose and air dry, and you're good.
