try posting this here >> http://www.clubcivic.com/board/forumdisplay.php?f=24

then you can get better advise..

MY adevise is to leave it alone.. It wont be the color your looking for, but it looks a whole lot better than spray paint everywhere.

there are certain dyes that are to be used when doing this. Not the cheap s**t you get from WalMart.

Um.... I painted the top section with "Vinyl & Fabric" paint and the lower section with plastic color. I only primered the plastic and didn't clear it. It turned out really good actually... No chipping or scraping... But I will be wrapping the upper section of the door myself with a completely different material. So, yes, you can do it this way and it DOES turn out. But it's REALLY time consuming and I recommend pulling your dash and entire interior and do it all at once... so it all matches. Just my :twocents:

vinly fabric is crapola!

spend a good amount of money on SEM paint. also get their paint prep and sand free. i will post you pictures of mine....
SEM looks more oem than anything. its expensive but worth it. i would rather pay a good price on paint then to have my crap look glossy and can sprayed or whatnot.

dont bullshit this, cause it will faid crack or look like s**t if you do.

That's were I got all my SEM stuff... I wasn't using "DupliColor" crap. I meant "Vinyl & Plastic" but JUST plastic and "Plastic Adhesion Promoter" for the panels. I'm sorry, I should have been more specific.

WAS my prelude... It was sold about 4 years ago... Still the best car I've ever owned!!! *** Correction - 6 years ago!!!! I'm GETTING OLD!!! ***

I understand what you're saying.. Especially with all the work that's involved with taking out the dash and all the panels, I'm going to be doing it again, but I don't want to... It took me the entire weekend last time!!!

with anything that changes the stock appearance, take your time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
do it right the first time so you dont have to play with your dingaling a second time.

i did 6 coats on all my panels with the sem paint. 6 even light coats.

you should really learn to use a can very well before doing this. just dont rush it. also use a blow dryer to help speed up the process and to create better results. but treat the dryer like the spray can. do in spraying motions with an even consistant distant... youll get it
