i have a turbo 2000 civic si. i went to get it tuned the tuner said the knock sensor is knocking 12 degrees of timing off. it runs fine and he said im loosing alot of power cause of it.. what could it be.. help plz

because when u go boost, you need colder plugs.. this is common knowledge. before you blow up your ride, take some time to research what is all involved in a boosted engine


Make sure you use high octane fuel, and 2 steps colder plugs.. that way the spark will be ignited late and help your situation

My tuner recommends NGK BKR7E for my B16 setup..
just thought I'd throw that out there.

Im using NGK V power thats what i was also told by ericks racing but i do agree with the colder plugs.

thats what the 4091s are.. the stock number, not NGKs #.. i dont know what a BKR7E is, but looks like heat range 7 which mine are also

why are you running a knock sensor? what type of engine management?

Yeah same question, If youre turned on a P28 you shouldnt need the knock sensor. If anything it shouldnt even be reading it.
