well i spoke to a guy last night that i have been talking to for a few months now about possibly rebuilding my engine for me.

he is in commerce city and is very reputable, so now i just have to decide if i want to put the engine in and see if there are problems and then take it out or take it up to him and have him tear into it and see what it needs...

any suggestions?

i would build it my self but u have to have certain rotary specific tools to do the job right and get everything lined up right. i would hate to mess it up since it is my first one and i cant really afford to buy another one right now ya know?

If you could do it yourself that'd be great, plus you'd learn even more but then again i don't think after so much body work etc, you want to risk messing something up and then having a truck with no engine sitting in your garage for more months and not be able to drive it cause of a mistake that could of been avoided

yeah I'd get it mocked up and see if there are any issues, then pull it and have it rebuilt solid.

ya ok, well glad we r on the same page. the guy told me i could rebuild it but rotaries are very precision engines. plus he has built tons of them and he will work with me on price...

i guess ill be taking an engine to denver within the next couple of weeks...

what kind of motor build are you going to do?
street port? bridge port? you should def upgrade to larger Apex seals, and have the rotors balanced, and make sure you have a nice radiator to keep up with cooling.
are you going to keep the oil injection system on it?

right now i am just wanting a mild street port and to get this thing running in pretty much stock form with an rx8 eccentric shaft and new seals and such.
oil injection will stay for now.

hopefully i can get it setup with a fmic too. i am not looking for crazy numbers out of this. i just weant to get it running so i can get the rest of the truck done and painted and start showing this thing..

Progress looks good with the engine mocked up slightly!
What kind of estimate for power do you think you'll get?

all depends on the port and fuel, well u know... lol
