Hey Guys, New guy. Names Nick, but the fam calls me Nikko. I'm from upstate NY specifically albany. I have a 97 Civic DX Coupe. Currently down with a blown D15. The Car has had 2 Ds and a B in the bay, right now the plan is to roll her out by fall total JDM swap. I'm thinking D16Y8 for a power plant, mostly because i lack the self control for another dual cam, but VTECh will keep me happy. The goal is lots of show with a little go.

Hopefully i'll be able to post pics of the process soon.;)

d15 manifolds and throttle body should bolt right up.... not 100% about the throttle body though

So, haha. Change in plans. The D16Y8 block is trashhhh. And come to find out my block is a D16Y7. Non vtec little brother. So, now the question is, aside from the obvious wiring, what do i need? I've read manifolds and throttle body, but i've also read No. What do you guys say?

So, you're wanting to use your d16block w/ the d15head? If that's the case you stay non-vtec and you swap out the heads. You can use the d16 timing belt, head gasket, and head bolts.

Can I ask why you went this route? To me it's a little pointless unless you just need a motor. I'd have personally done a Frankenstein build, but that's me.

Oh yes...welcome!

Edit..b/c I'm confused by your confusion of what motor(s) you have. If it's a y7block and a y8 head, PM me. I did the swap to my coupe. Or, enjoy this thread: http://www.clubcivic.com/board/showthread.php?t=47921&highlight=y8+mini+me+build
