it was the last d series engine ever made came in the 01-05 civics. d16 is a much better platform to build an engine off of (if your set on D) and there is a much wider variety of parts. intake manifold is plastic, it was meant for fuel efficiency not power.

Are you thinking of swapping or something?

no, im looking at getting that 04 ex coupe that I posted about awhile back. It's got the D16A2(or A4)engine. I don't really plan on building onto it. I just want a nicer car.

well it also has mazda vtec lol well variable timing so the head is diff, it takes premium which sucks but OEM wood nardi wheel + shifter is dope too, it also has more bracing underneeth so the chassis feels a lil stiffer.
