... Should I?

I just downloaded Windows 7 Professional for free from my school, along with Visio Professional and Project Professional 2007 (I needed them for a Project management class anyways).

However will it be worth the upgrade?

2 Gb of system memory, 120 Gb HD... AMD Athlon 64 x2 Dual-Core...

It's free, but if I'm going to be experiencing a problem with it running slow then it's not worth it, as I'm currently happy with XP. I usually run a few programs at a time, 90% of the time iTunes is running with Google Chrome, and I sometimes add in Photoshop CS3 to the mix as well... I don't want to have any problems with multiple programs slowing down my computer.

Thoughts or opinions?

i typically upgrade to the second newest version of Windows when the NEXT version comes out, because it has been my experience that by the time the new one is ready the old one finally works right.. lol

If it's the 64 bit, you're memory will be making the minimum requirements. If it's the 32 bit, you'll be ok.

I have been using Windows 7 ever since the RC was out and now I have a full, legit copy. I am also one of the few people in my company running it and I love it. I haven't had any issues with it other than a few odd software compatibility issues with 64bit at work.

Is this going on a desktop or a laptop? How old is the hardware?

I think the hover feature is one of the best parts about Aero. Are you referring to the side by side comparison snap?

:word:

I have Windows 7 on the new laptop I just got and I do like it. I have tried Vista and hated that, never had a reason or desire to upgrade to Vista.

Do it,

All my customers rave about it, and I just got it at work, I have it on my mac bootcamp at home, zero complaints.
