I've seen a couple episodes.... it's a semi-interesting show, but as a martial artist, I find myself too critical of their rulings. They neglect so much information that would make their results very different. I watch it mainly to watch them smash things....

I though the VC would have a shot.. that is till i saw the Nazi flamethrower.. in real life.. that would handle SEVERAL guys.. AND the straw bunker they are hiding in.. in one shot.. lol

SS should have stated that as it makes a BIG difference..

but what you have to keep in mind is the following...

"they" (Deadliest Warrior production staff) are not masters of all fighting styles of the world.. SO they bring people in who demonstrate various styles and weapons.. and then they do their best..

I do find that I agree with MOST conclusions they draw.. but some i have had issue with..

if ss like stated, they would win hands down; however like most "reality" tv there will be some stupid twist like the VC's "spirit" that makes it way too close.

True, I guess it all depends on which weapons they choose to use. I just find that the tactical maneuvers from the VC would likely out do the SS and their giant caliber guns and dogs.

This is true, but some things are very obvious.... as an example, I saw them compare samurai to vikings, and they would compare two separate weapons... The samurai one was 7 feet long, the viking one was 3 feet long. They gave that category to the vikings because it did more damage in some way or another. What they completely neglected is the fact that you are not going to be able to get anywhere near somebody with a 7 foot long melee weapon. Doesn't matter how devastating your weapon is if you can't use it on your enemy.

Just little things like that which drive me nuts. They are important things to consider, and not too difficult to think of imo... expert or not. Reach is a major factor in all forms of combat.

The samurai one was 7 feet long, the viking one was 3 feet long. They gave that category to the vikings because it did more damage in some way or another. while reach is a major factor so is armor.. you can have the longest most aggressive weapon in the world.. but if it can not penetrate armor you are beat.. also.. the "edge" they give is based on what they "think" my understanding of the simulation is it takes things like that into account.. in fact that just happened last week.. the one grounp had some crazy sharp knife that cut a heart right out of the body.. problem.. it was like 5 inches.. lol so did not get a lot of kills in the "simulation"

the simulation you "see" is a dramatic representation of the ultimate fight.. the little score breakdown they do shows the kills for each weapon..

This is something that I found very interesting about the show. I'd be curious to learn more about the program they use and how its algorithms work.

pretty good show, iv seen it a few times, i watched the indian vs gladiator, pretty cool, but i have my moneys on the nazi's

nevermind, I just looked into it and found out that it is a slightly modified version of a video game. lol.

Oh well, I'll just accept it for what it is, and allow it to satisfy my primal man urge to break, smash, slash, and otherwise destroy things.

I really like to break stuff.
