...it might make that much for a short while. If you have ever seen the size of stock d-series rods you will now it cant handle that much power for long so keep that in mind. If you intend on driving it a lot and beating on it, invest in some upgraded internals if 300+ is your goal.

i think will do well with 280 hp and arp's i dont want to take a chance of doing some serious damage because it will be my dd

if its your DD then i suggest boost 6 or7 and dont beat on it so much. im dd 6psi on my gsr turbo hatch bottom end built and for racing 10-12psi. (Electronic boost controller)

the problem with your question is its rather vague. you can be asking 1 of 2 things as i see it.

What is the max HP a stock d16 can go to?
What is a safe HP a stock d16 can handle and still be reliable?

Well my original question is what the max HP a d16 can hold with arp's, It would be good to have a answer to the second question

On a realistic level, daily driving anything fast will only get you speeding tickets!!!!!

But anyway, you only need about 200HP for a car that weighs around 2,300lbs and it will move! thats only running a few pounds of boost and keeping stock internals. 300 or 280 is very high for a civic. keep in mind that if you plan on going real fast, make sure you upgrade your brakes so you can stop real fast, too. nothing cool about brakes fading or not being powerful enough to prevent you from smashing a guardrail or powerline pole.

200-215 whp seems to be the reliable average.

Ya, i am going to stay in the low and mid 200's and i cant get a speeding ticket in my town as long as i slow down between the white lines, in pa local cops can not use radar guns, only stop watches. I am mostly looking to be quick, I rarely drive over 10 mph over the speed limit. I haven't gotten a ticket yet...for speeding that is only my tint. So i do not plan on going really fast.

i've seen some pretty sick d's but i wouldn't try to make much on a stock motor, you will be fine around 200-230 and that is enough to have fun with.

wow a stock d16 will only handle around 200-220whp b4 the rods need to be changed..... stock rods go at around 220whp....ive seen around 250whp... but that would be pushing it....soon or later your gonna have probs... just upgrade the rods to eagle h beam rods and some good arias or wiseco pistons =)
