I'm thinking its my clutch cuz when I exited I down shift and won't go to gear, and when I stopped I put it in first gear and it won't move so I gave it more gas and heard this awful sound

Bummer, Jay. You were'nt by chance leaking hydraulic fluid, were you? It sounds like your clutch slave, which isn't a difficult fix. Its common in older Miatas actually.

Yeah, I changed my 99 and my 01, but would it make grinding noise if it failed?
