It sound like a sucky deal for Tom, but i kind of agree with the decision. I mean the idea of a mod is to be here all the time or at least the majority of the time. If you have a busy life and cant access the site alot i think you should've handed over the mod status to someone else anyways.

Its sucks Tom. Im sorry it has happened, but you have handled your self gracefully. Hopefully everything works out.

The thing is though that I was still modding, meaning editing, moving, closing, deleting and other mod task, just not taking part in all conversations, so yes I was still doing my job, just not being vocal enough.

We all know being a vocal leader is way over-rated anyways...
I mean, just look at Obama and the whole BP oil spill thing... he has shown the world that a real leader works behind the scenes, away from the limelight

One thing I have to say OP, is that Its ironic that you didnt want to participate in the "drama" threads in the Mod section. Yet, in a very civil kind of way you started exactly that making this thread. It is what it is though, hope everything gets cleared up. Its nice to actually see a forum have an issue, and have it dicussed in a civil way without name calling, bashing, etc.

no offense at all, i just don't think most people understand why i didn't want to take part in a b***h fest in the mod lounge, it was just childish on almost a daily basis, yes there was other s**t in there that i could have commented on as well, and as someone mentioned when i did it was just perhaps a i agree, s**t i never knew i had to post more then taht, i broke a mod rule by saying just that i agree, lol, but that is way beyond the point, my main point was taht i was still doing my job, sure they say oh i checked your log, news flash to them, the log they are checking was just for typed words, such as one's post count, not one actuall physical activity log, or actions performed, which brings me back to why was i demodded lol.,

Tom we checked your Log's; both Written(verbal) & also including things you did around CC. I'm sorry it had to happen this way because to be honest you are quiet and simple but it seemed to play a role in your demodding.

We all would not have made the decision to boot you if we hadn't found all and EVERYTHING possible to see a reason to keep you on. No one want's to keep changing staff around, that just makes us look absurd and it show's no integrity when your decision making is questioned even by yourself; Hence always moving people off the staff (we don't want that)

All we we're ever striving for was an active moderator group who chimed in every time something important came up. No one posted where they did not want to because no one has a gun to anyone's head & i KNOW you understand that. In your defense from what little i know about you, you seem to have a level head and the way you handled yourself and this thread proves it; you sir are a gentleman but that doesn't not remove the fact we need more from a staff member' especially one that was holding a SMod position.

There were many, many, many instances where i brought your name to light. Even in a thread where everyone posted and i described each and every moderator in a very very straightforward manner & i had nothing, not one thing to say about you other than you seemed nice. I am just sorry you were not around in the moderators forum to see the various instances where i asked about you in hopes you would come and see it therefore answering to calm my nerves about how you were handling things & how maybe life was in the way but was still doing your job. So i brought it up one last time and your post/logs were brought up & it was dubbed you were now unfit.


I still stand by my statement that you seem to be a stand up guy but also that a moderator staff should be active in the public forum (I am NOT saying to post whore) and also active in private mod discussions.


i know this thread was basically done and over with but no one seemed to answer that little detail that was rather important., again i wish you the best Tom, you sir are a gentleman.

Why is it dumb? He broke a rule several times. He had a few infractions, we felt it was the best course, it's not a permaban.
