B16 tuning question

Hey guys, i got a 98 civic with b16 engine and transmission. ever since the swap, the check engine light has been on for o2 sensor. At first i thought that the light is on because the ecu is obd1 and the chassis is obd2. So when i did a dyno test, i was surprised to find that it runs lean at high rpms. i also know that the obd1 ecu has been chipped, but i remember for what car. so my question is, do i need to get it tuned properly with something like crome, or should i just change the o2 sensor and call it a day. thanks for the replies

You should definitely get a chip/file for the correct motor. The chip on there could be set up for anything, not knowing is not good.

Hi Jay,

Thanks for the reply, do you know where I can get the right file for the b16 motor, stock. I just want to run the motor with stock internals as safe as possible.

thanks

You could order a basemap chip from a number of shops (including us), or you could set yourself up with a chip burner and Crome and do it yourself.

you should get a basemap but its best if you get a tune because you cant really beat on the motor with a basemap. every motor is not the same. i would not beat on it at all if its not tuned. its not worth blowing your motor.
