Hector, my car makes about 200hp/200tq. Probably a little south of that though, to be honest. Call it 190/190 to the wheels.

John, the thing is, my cars powerband is similar to yours. You make most of your hp after the Vtec crossover, right? And that is at about 5,500 revs?

My car makes most of its horsepower, and more importantly torque after my version of Vtec. Which is my incompotent ECU deciding to add fuel to my already boosted intake charge. That happens for me at about 5,500 revs too. My car seriously lacks torque from a super lean mix before then. My car would be waay quicker with only a smarter ECU that added fuel dynamically with boost. Its pretty pathetic to be honest. Hopefully by the time Automotion comes around again, I have that fixed.

Anyway, thats why I think it would be a good race. That, and I need to shift a whole bunch. I'll be in 5th gear by the time 1/4 mile is over. Thats a lot of time out of boost.

Not individually, but I can change the rear end from 4.10 to a 3.63 made by Mazdaspeed. Then I can do 60mph in third and top out at 150+ instead of 125. Then I can get that Hydra ECU and raise the redline from 6500 rpms up to 7,500 rpms. Then I can get a turbo that is still efficient at those engine speeds. Then we'd be cooking!

This is true. But, when I do upgrade my engine to the 280hp ballpark, I won't be breaking my drivetrain. I have the best version of the sport brakes, thicker axles, the stiffest NB chassis and a stronger transmission than any other.

If I'd have done it again, I would have probably purchased an SE, or another 6-spd version and turbo'd it myself. But I'm having fun. And as soon as I drop a huge ass amount of money on the engine and its periphreals, I'm golden. I've stared a fund. I need it to grow to about 7,000 bucks. After that, All I need to do is put in the man hours and my car will be done.

As long as I don't get distracted by CF trunk lids and whatnot. I've decided not to get one. Aside from the motor, I'm done with the car. No more chassis or interior mods. I've got my Lotus seats, and the brackets are on the way.

Wait, frame rails and a TDR splitter. Then I'm done with the accessories.

ahh i want lotus seats soo bad.... I really hate my seats.... Very true, i wasn't downplaying it as the MSM is still my favorite miata as it's so refined, other than the boost issues.

Your car is already nasty can't wait to see the changes when i see it again.

Nice seats

As for the TL vs. NSX talk, the NSX is a very nice car, but I drove my aunts base TL for a couple months before I bought the Civic. I have never had more fun driving a car. I have drove a NSX, but only down the street(my friend's dad owned one until he crashed it in a head-on). It was fun, but still. Thanks AC for that code.

Actually, I don't think I have any pics yet. But they are not the sames ones that Shane posted. those are Elise seats. I have Exige seats. Will post pics this afternoon. Stay tuned.

What's the oem hp/tq specs?
178hp & 162 lb/ft Super weak for a 1.8 turbo, I know, but all of that is bottled up in the intake and downpipe. uncork those and add a few pounds of boost with the manual boost controller and you are right up at around 200 on a cool day.
