So guys i wanna know what u think are the best STREET LEGAL header to put on a 99 EJ with a D16, with a AEM short ram intake? want to know which will give me good flow/ hp gain
kinda on a budget. .still getting paid min wage
so something around $200-300 will have to do

So plzz drop a comment and put what u have, or what yur friends have, that works well

DC Sports 4-2-1 Mild Steel Ceramic Coated Header.
That's what I have. All my friends have some sort of DC Sports Header.
It's CARB Legal and used to be owned by AEM which did most of the R&D before selling to Pilot.
If you're going to be daily driving it, I suggest the 4-2-1 due to it's scavenging effect which produces good low to mid-range figures.

i bought a megan racing 4-2-1 header and just had a speed shop weld it to make it a one-piece and it works great and it feels like i have a little bit more mid range torque

if youre making minimum wage why waste money putting a header on a d16?? you'll have virtually no power gains to speak of, and will be pretty much disappointed at the paycheck you blew on some under hood bling. in my honest opinion that's absolutely absurd. please just save your money









...but if youre a hard headed determined kid and insist on spending money on a header, get a megan or dc sports off ebay

Don't get a Megan Racing Header if you are looking for Street Legal. Megan Racing does not hold any C.A.R.B. E.O.'s for any of their header systems.

To guys posting from outside of Cali: Cali engine mods need C.A.R.B. Exemption Numbers for them to be legal. Therefore, a Megan Racing Header will not work for him.

Yea, i dont plan on putting my car on the track, minimum wage because im still in high school,putting mods on my car is more of a learning experiance for me,it intrest me, not so i can to have bragging rights,

But yup the title of this thread is OPINION so yea

DC sports is good. I've heard that the eBay ones work just as great.

Go with the DC 4-2-1 headers. I have them in mine and it made a world of difference in the mid to high end. It even comes with a little stucker you put on the underside of the hood saying that it is a legal modification.
